Yes, I believe there is something wrong with the bios so a cpuz validation should be necessary. The ECS P6VEM3 very first bios was 2003, samuel 2 was released 2001, and C3 in 2002 or 2003. So I was surprised it was from year 1997 kasabay ng Intel Slot 1 processors? I don't think so.

Similar to the set of rules that we imposed on 'Retro RAM', participants are required to provide either a receipt or a CPUz screenshot to prove the age of their entry. We have consulted ECS engineers and they confirmed that the P6VEM3 is the oldest among the entries.

Yesterday, the declared winner went to our office and willingly presented his old, working ECS P6VEM3 motherboard. While the date shown on CPUz is consistent with what has been posted on the contest thread and is valid, we found the date in conflict with the markings found on the motherboard. Hence, we have decided to pick a new winning entry. Stay tuned for new announcements.

For this reason, I hope the contest will extend even for a week only. Thanks

Now that's what I called a REAL WIN. Big thanks to ECS, and HWZ for doing their part. Enjoy the board, brother.

Smile Old for Gold: Quest for the Oldest ECS Motherboard Contest Winner

We congratulate Jesse Clark Guno a.k.a. clarkie! His ECS P6BXT-A+ has been confirmed as the oldest motherboard among the entries that we’ve received for the ‘Old for Gold: Quest for the Oldest Motherboard’ contest. The P6BXT-A+ is almost as old as our parent website, HardwareZone.com.sg, which is celebrating its 14th anniversary this year. Among HardwareZone.com.sg’s earliest reviews focused on motherboards based on the Intel 440BX chipset which was released in 1998 (http://gohwz.ws/PdDsrT). Clarkie received an ECS Z77H2-A2X Golden Edition motherboard as his prize. Kudos!
