Transcend microSDXC 330S 64GB Review

Gaming microSDXC cards are like a thing now, and if you’re looking for one to step up your gaming experience on your mobile devices or you just need a reliable storage solution for shoots and whatnot, Transcend has something for you. What we have right now is the Transcend microSDXC 330S 64GB to review.

PACKAGING

Well, then. The microSDXC 330S' packaging is as simple as it gets. Like, really. It comes in an easy-to-open paperboard. In it are the microSD card itself, plus an SD adapter if you want to use it with your cameras or your laptop/desktop only supports that form factor.

PERFORMANCE

Transcend tags the microSDXC 330S 64GB with 100MB/s read and 85MB/s write performance. Our platforms to test it our currently limited with the slow card readers of both the ASUS X456 and E203NAH, so we’ll take it for a spin on our Huawei P9 and Nintendo Switch. Transcend also recommends to ensure your device supports SD6.0 specification or later to achieve the optimal A2 performance.

Here are the benchmark results on the Huawei P9 using Androbench and A1 SD Benchmark tools:

Our experience with the Nintendo Switch will be anecdotal, but enough to at least test the microSD card for lags and slowdowns during loading of the games we’ve downloaded. So far, we’ve tested it out with the digital games we have such as Brawlhalla and Hollow Knight –they do load fast, and we didn’t experience any system lag issues.

CONCLUSION

If you don't want to settle for anything less, the Transcend microSDXC 330S 64GB will definitely work wonders for you. At around Php900, it's priced competitively against other microSDXC cards that follow the A2 application performance class. It's even backed with the company's reputable 5-year warranty. However. If you value space over performance, there are other microSDXC cards that can offer more of that cheaper.
