Post Trend Micro Extends Windows XP Support for Businesses

With Microsoft announcing April 8, 2014 as the end date of its support for Windows XP, Trend Micro presents OfficeScan with Intrusion Defense Firewall for businesses that do not yet have the capability of upgrading to the newest Windows offering.

No longer armed with bug fixes and security patches, any new threats—harmful viruses, spyware, and other malicious software—that may exploit newly discovered vulnerabilities in Windows XP from this date onwards will not be addressed by Microsoft. This may be of concern to users, especially those in enterprise and corporate environments that have not yet migrated to the latest supported OS.

Trend Micro continues to recommend that users migrate to the latest supported OS version as soon as possible, but also understands the complexity of migrating a large environment and many companies may not have their final upgrades completed before this date.

In order to help the company’s business customers safely migrate to the latest OS, Trend Micro is extending its support for Windows XP-based clients through its business endpoint protection product OfficeScan until January 30, 2017.

The Trend Micro OfficeScan is a proven vulnerability protection that keeps endpoints shielded until patches can be deployed, or indefinitely for out-of-support or un-patchable systems such as those using Windows XP. Endpoint systems can be further locked down using application control to prevent unwanted and unknown applications from being executed using whitelisting or a complete system lockdown.

Consequently, there are companies which are equipped with legacy line-of-business applications that require Windows XP or existing hardware that does not support a new operating system. With OfficeScan, these systems will implement virtual patching and application control protection that helps extend the life of legacy systems and applications as well as lower one’s administrative expenses.

In line with this, Trend Micro is offering a 50% discount when switching to the Trend Micro Enterprise Security for Endpoint – Advanced Edition, which includes OfficeScan among other vulnerability protection software.

To avail of this package, contact Trend Micro Sales at +632-646-1968. Offer is valid now until June 30, 2014.
